The candle holders that Jewish women light on the Sabbath Eve are a vehicle for many a muse. Many of the Yemini versions are geometrical and simple in form. The hammered surfaces add many reflected facets to the Sabbath candlelight while the gentle garnet embellishment adds an elegant decoration fitting to the sanctity of the weekly greeting of the "Sabbath Bride." Kiddush wine goblets are used both during the ceremony of receiving the Sabbath and the ceremony of Havdala, signifying the close of the Sabbath. This particular one was created to complement the form and texture of the matching candlesticks.
